Michael Donald Avenue Dedicated

Mayor Sam Jones and District Two Councilman William Carroll, officially dedicated Michael Donald Avenue at a ceremony on May 16, 2006. Last month, the Mobile City Council renamed Herndon Avenue to honor Mr. Donald.

After the request was made by family members of Mr. Donald, a petition was signed by residents of the street approving the name change. Michael Donald was a teenager when he was found murdered on Herndon Avenue.

Michael Donald Avenue runs between Springhill Avenue and Old Shell Road.
