MHDC issues statement on passing of Carol Adams-Davis
Mobile, Ala. — On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Mobile Historic Development Commission (MHDC) issued the following statement regarding the passing of longtime member Carol Adams-Davis.
“The Mobile Historic Development Commission sadly notes the passing of Carol Adams-Davis on Oct. 29, 2023. Ms. Adams-Davis was an active and engaged member of the Commission for over a decade, and her tireless support of historic preservation in the city of Mobile was inspiring. She was born and raised in the Leinkauf Historic District in the home that her father built in 1947.
After living in California, Ms. Adams-Davis returned to her family home in Leinkauf, where she lived out her remaining years. In addition to her long service on the MHDC, Ms. Adams-Davis served in leadership roles in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Sierra Club, as well as the Leinkauf Historic District Neighborhood Organization. The MHDC extends our heartfelt condolences to Carol’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
