The City of Mobile Youth Academy, established in the spring of 2008, seeks to build resiliency in young people through activities that promote self- esteem, encourage education, and provides job and life skills training. The City of Mobile Youth Academy supports the efforts of families, schools and neighborhoods in helping make Mobile a safe, nurturing environment for children.
The program and activities are held in Recreation Centers throughout the City of Mobile, with a curriculum that integrates fun activities, problem solving and evaluations to foster personal, social and leadership development.
It is Mayor Jones’ vision that all participants of the Academy will complete this Journey of Self Development with a brighter outlook for their futures.
