Mayor's Office to Hold Tree Planting Events

The Mayor’s Office of Strategic Initiatives, in conjunction with the St. Stephens Road Improvement Association, will sponsor two Neighborhood Beautification projects coordinated with the Continuous Learning Center and Mobile Housing Board.

Mayor Samuel L. Jones has dedicated many City Departments to this effort to ensure the success of this beautification project. This is the first initiative of many to be performed in public housing by the City of Mobile.

On Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. students and faculty members of the Continuous Learning Center will be planting trees on their campus (1870 Pleasant Ave). They will be joined by the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Initiatives, St. Stephens Road Improvement Association and members of the Mobile Police Department.

On Saturday, February 14 at 9 a.m. Roger Williams residents and various volunteer and community groups will be planting trees in Roger Williams (308 Simington Dr). The Mayor’s Office of Strategic Initiatives, the St. Stephens Road Improvement Association, and the Mobile Police Dept will assist with the planting.
