Mayor to Host Second Litter Summit

Jun 17th, 2008

The City of Mobile’s Keep Mobile Beautiful and Neighborhood & Community Services Departments are pleased to announce their 2nd annual Litter Summit to be held on Saturday, June 28th at the Harbor Communications Center at the Hank Aaron Stadium from 10 until 11:30 a.m. In response to the great turnout and concern of citizens, community group activists and neighborhood associations to keep Mobile clean and beautiful, the event is being held to continue the momentum that the blue “Let’s Can the Litter” receptacles generated last year.

Participants will hear from Mayor Jones, as well as others at the City and in the community about the importance of and innovative ways to keep their areas clean. They will also play the Litter Trivia game, and be entered into contests for door prizes based on their knowledge. The morning will culminate with a break-out session between neighbors designed to focus attention on problem solving of common litter issues.

The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about the City services and resources that are available to them to attend. For more information, please visit www.ncsmobile.org.
