Nov 19th, 2014

MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Sandy Stimpson will host a community design forum on Wednesday, November 19 at the Mobile History Museum to hear feedback from citizens for a proposed Mobile Mardi Gras Park design.

"The Mardi Gras Market and Park proposal has the potential to rejuvenate an underutilized area of downtown Mobile," said Stimpson. "This forum will give the community a unique opportunity to influence the future of our city."

Ramona Hill of Workshops Etc. will facilitate the design forum along with architect Nicholas H. Holmes III of Mobile, who will share his design proposals. Preliminary plans include an open air market concept and public gathering space at the corner of Royal and Government streets.

This event will take place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Mobile History Museum, located at 111 South Royal Street. The public is invited to attend.
