Mayor Stimpson Submits Contracts for Right-Of-Way Mowing Plan
Apr 7th, 2015
MOBILE, Ala. – Mayor Sandy Stimpson is pleased to present to the City Council, for their approval, contracts that will once again help the city maintain major thoroughfare right-of-ways by having them mowed and maintained during the peak growing season on a regular schedule. For part of the summer last year, the City of Mobile was able to realize considerable efficiency by partnering with the private sector to handle major thoroughfare mowing. By lessening the load on the city staff, the citizens were able to experience regular and appropriate mowing schedules across the city. This is a continued effort by the Stimpson Administration to address and improve the appearance, maintenance and overall cleanliness of the City of Mobile.
"I look forward to seeing the results across the city from a mowing program that spans the entire growing season. The citizens deserve a clean and well maintained city. By partnering with the private sector to help us maintain our major thoroughfares, the city will gain the capacity to better serve our citizens in all other parts of the city. Our mowing schedules should hit the mark this year," Stimpson said.
