Mayor Stimpson Presents Key to the City to 4-Year-Old Mary Carlisle Williams

This afternoon, Mayor Sandy Stimpson presented a Key to the City of Mobile to four year old Mary
Carlisle Williams. Her parents, Mandy and Andy Williams attended the presentation in the Mayor's
Office. A video posted by her mother went viral last week when they surprised her with a trip to Disney
World and Mary started crying and saying she wanted to got to Mobile instead. Already the spotlight
has landed on The Jay Leno Show and several national news reporting agencies. It's real! Her MiMi
lives in Mobile and she would much rather have come to Mobile than go to Disney.

In addition to the symbolic Key to the City of Mobile, Mayor Stimpson presented her with several other
city gifts including Museum Passes, gift certificates, a wrapped book and a beautiful Teddy Bear.

Mayor Stimpson said, "Mary Carlisle Williams probably did, in 20 seconds, more to bring exposure and
focus to the City of Mobile than most people have done in a lifetime."
