Mayor Stimpson kicks off City of Mobile's new software program

Dec 17th, 2014

MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Stimpson commenced implementation of the City of Mobile's new software at a kickoff on Wednesday, December 17 at 8:30 am. All city employees were invited to this two day training session to transition to the new state of the art system being installed by Tyler Technologies.

"This is the next step to move the City's outdated Information Technology system into the 21st Century," said Mayor Stimpson. "Tyler Technologies will do more than just replace the former system. It will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the City of Mobile's operations, and this kick-off is an excellent time to take advantage of their expertise."

The goal of this week's training is to begin the process of building a unified project team. David Regnery of Tyler Technologies will give a presentation on the implementation of the new system including a toolset demonstration and an overview of the client support portal overview.

The City purchased the $2.2 million system as part of the fiscal 2015 budget. The city's previous software program dated back more than three decades and became too costly to maintain.
