Mayor Stimpson invites citizens to attend Tourism Town Hall

MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Sandy Stimpson is encouraging citizens to participate in an upcoming town hall meeting on tourism hosted by the Mobile Convention & Visitor's Bureau.

The event, which features a panel of national tourism leaders, is scheduled Friday, February 27 from 9 am to 11:30 am at the Mobile Convention Center. Admission is free.

"I encourage anyone who wants Mobile to become a premier destination to attend this town hall," said Mayor Stimpson. "CVB President Al Hutchinson and his team have brought together the industry's top leaders to educate our community on becoming a tourism town. How we present Mobile to the world has been a priority in my administration since day one, and I am looking forward to having a candid conversation on Mobile's future."

Participating panelists will be:


  • Michael Gehrisch, President and CEO of Destination Marketing Association International

  • John Graham, President and CEO of American Society of Association Executives

  • Deborah Sexton, President and CEO of Professional Convention Management Association

  • Peter Pantuso, President and CEO of the American Bus Association

  • Paul Van Deventer, President and CEO of Meeting Professionals International
