MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Sandy Stimpson issued the following statement on the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park’s 50th anniversary celebration.

"Congratulations to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park on this important milestone. Over the past 50 years, the battleship has become an icon for the City of Mobile attracting millions of visitors and bringing pride to our city. I know the next 50 years will be even more exciting as the USS Alabama continues to act as a beacon for Mobile welcoming all to our historic city."
