Mayor Stimpson appoints Alvin Hope to Mobile Sports Authority

MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced the appointment of Alvin K. Hope, II to the Mobile Sports Authority.

Hope is an attorney with the Mobile office of Maynard Cooper & Gale, P.C. practicing in public finance and governmental regulatory affairs.

"I am confident Alvin will not only uphold Mobile's rich sports tradition, but will help the Mobile Sports Authority put our city on the map for athletics," said Stimpson.

Hope graduated from the University of Alabama in 1993 where he was a three-year letterman in football and a member of the 1992 National Championship football team. He also earned a law degree from the University of Alabama in 1997 and a degree in Masters in Business Administration from Emory University's Goizueta School of Business in 2011.

Hope is a member of the Alabama and Georgia State Bar Associations, the National Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He serves on the Boards of Prichard Preparatory School, the Gulf Coast Angel Network, Mobile Area Education Foundation, and UMS Wright Preparatory School. He is also a member of the Mobile Downtown Rotary Club, the Senior Bowl Committee and the Red Elephant Club.
