Mayor Stimpson Applauds Swimmers Competing in Olympic Trials

Mobile Ala.- Mayor Stimpson sends his best wishes to the seven swimmers from Mobile who are off to compete in the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska."This is such an incredible opportunity for these gifted athletes and I am proud that will be representing the City Mobile on the national stage," said Mayor Stimpson. "I wish nothing but success to the seven swimmers competing next week."
The competitions will take place from June 26th until July 3rd. The seven Mobile natives will compete with the most elite swimmers in the country to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic Swim Team for Rio de Janeiro.
The group heading to Omaha includes:
- Marlin Brutkiewicz (100-meter, 200-meter breaststroke) UMS-Wright/Naval Academy
- PJ Dunne (50-meter, 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter freestyle) Gulf Breeze HS/Texas
- Ashton Ellzey (50-meter freestyle) Baker HS/Auburn
- Will Glass (100-meter, 200-meter backstroke, 100-meter, 200-meter butterfly) McGill-Toolen/Texas
- Carl Madden (400-meter freestyle) UMS-Wright/Alabama
- Paige Madden (100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter freestyle, 200-meter backstroke) UMS-Wright
- Russell Noletto (400-meter freestyle) McGill-Toolen/Auburn
