Mayor Jones Welcomes NFL Star Captain Munnerlyn Home to Mobile

At the council meeting on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, Mayor Sam Jones welcomed Mobile native and Carolina Panther standout Captain Munnerlyn. Munnerlyn is a starting cornerback for the Panthers, who previously starred and Murphy High School and the University of South Carolina.

Mayor Jones gave Munnerlyn a proclamation and a Key to the City at the council meeting. Captain expressed his gratitude for the honors and said that he wanted to do whatever he could to help his alma mater, which was devastated by a tornado on Christmas Day.

While in town, Munnerlyn has been speaking to youth groups and volunteering his time as a mentor for local children.
