At the Mobile City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, Mayor Sam Jones recognized Mr. Robert “Curtis” Andry. Mr. Andry was a member of the all-black 761st Tank Battalion in World War II, and the only all-black Tank Battalion that was called up to the European theatre by General George Patton himself to assist him in the “Battle of the Bulge.”
