Mayor Jones, Councilwoman Hudson to Dedicate Site of Regional Senior Center

Mobile Mayor Sam Jones and District Six Councilwoman Connie Hudson are proud to invite you to a site dedication ceremony for the Mobile Regional Senior Community Center on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the project site on South Hillcrest Road (between Cottage Hill and Girby Roads).

Construction is already underway on the state-of-the-art center, which will include a variety of recreational, social, exercise, and educational amenities. Space for dance classes, billiards, a computer lab, an exercise room with equipment, a small heated therapeutic pool, a full kitchen, and a dining facility will fill the 20,000 sq. ft. building.

The center is also designed for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) designation as a hurricane shelter with provisions for medical needs patients and will be built to withstand Category 3 hurricane-force sustained winds.
