MAYOR DOW SELECTED CORPORATE CHAIRMAN FOR LOCAL AMERICA'S WALK FOR DIABETES

Jun 13th, 2003

Mobile Mayor Mike Dow will be in the front of the pack when the American Diabetes Association kicks off its annual "America's Walk for Diabetes", Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Langan Park. Dow has been selected Corporate Walk Chairman and urges local business owners to get involved in walking to find a cure for Diabetes.

There are three ways for you to become involved in the Walk:

  1. Form a Walk Team within your company and organization. The success of the Walk is due to team participation of individuals within companies and organizations.

  2. Stars For diabetes Sales. If you have a retail establishment, this is a great way to raise extra Walk dollars. For a dollar per star contribution, your customer will have his name placed on a star, which is then mounted in prominent locations within the store.

  3. Sponsorship. There are several levels to choose from. Sponsorships help defray the costs associated with the Walk, which allows the Diabetes Association to assure all walkers that each and every dollar they raise goes directly to research.

America's Walk for Diabetes is the largest annual fund raising event for the American Diabetes Association. It raises critical funds for diabetes research, education, local programs, and services.
