Mayor, Councilman to Break Ground on Sidewalks

Mayor Sam Jones, Councilman William Carroll and St. Stephens Road Improvement Association will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Roger Williams Housing Complex (corner of St. Stephens Road and St. Charles Avenue).

Seven years ago the small businesses on St Stephens Road organized to combat blight and borderline criminal activity on their business corridor; and to make the neighborhood safer and more visually pleasing. That work has now produced its first fruits.
