Mayor, Councilman Declare Wragg Swamp King and Queen Day

Councilman Fred Richardson and Mayor Sam Jones recognized Tuesday, June 20, 2006 as “Wragg Swamp King and Queen Day” in the City of Mobile. They were joined by the Wragg Swamp royalty themselves, King George I and his Queen Markie Thomas.

June 16-18, 2006 marked the first official Wragg Swamp Festival in the Trinity Gardens community. every third weekend of June, Wragg Swamp Festival will be celebrated at the Dotch Community Center and Mike Dow Amphitheater with activities such as the crowning of a king and queen, a parade, Wing Fling, health fair, fashion show, car show, and D.J. competition.
