Feb 1st, 2005

Date: Saturday, February 26, 2005
Where: Mobile Civic Center
Time: 7:00pm

Dana Pitcher Productions, Inc., in association with McConnell Pontiac/GMC, proudly presents "Mayhem in Mobile" on Saturday, February 26 at the Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama.

Proving that they are the real deal, Dana Pitcher Productions features in the main event a match between Light Heavyweights Jaffa Ballogou (42-5-0, 37 KO's), who fights under the Don King banner, vs. Egypt's Karbary Salem (23-4-0, 12 KO's). Ballogou, a native of Togo, is a former WBC International Super Middleweight Champion who lost a close world title contest to "Fabulous" Frankie Liles. Salem, aka "The Egyptian Magician", is returning to the ring for the first time, since losing a decision to WBO Super Middleweight Champ Joe Calzaghe, but not before he almost KO'd the champ with a single punch! Karbary is the former NABF Super Middleweight Champion who won the title with a tenth round knockout of Randie Carver. This is sure to be a match-up which is not for the faint hearted.

Included, in the sensational undercard, are several boxers who will put everything on the line. Trinidad's Melvin "Powerhouse" Corbin (12 wins , 7 KO's ), the exciting Ishmail Arvin, who has an outstanding professional record of 11 wins, 6 KO's, Jesse Joe Laura (7 wins, 5KO's);don't forget the crowd pleasing 'Handsome' Hector Beltran who has knocked out seven of the eight men he has faced and many more.

There will be nine contests and a scheduled fifty plus rounds of boxing for your entertainment pleasure. Dana Pitcher Productions presents contests which are the type of fights that people love to see, even matchups and competitive fights. "No question, the main event is going to be a war!!

Pitcher was quoted as saying that so much money has been made in the sport of boxing over the past thirty years, those who profited the most have taken the game for granted. They have taken the public for granted, while failing to develop the next generation of champions. Once again, with the exception of the major title bouts, the public is being cheated as "Tomato Can" (unevenly matched) fights are the order of the day; fights in which an up and coming boxer's record is exaggerated by fighting a string of "bums", where the outcome is certain.

Pitcher's matchmaker for this gladiatorial event is the world renown Payton Sher, who is also Don King's long time matchmaker and who has participated in several momentous boxing matches in the history of the sport, including the 'Rumble in the Jungle', 'The Thrilla in Manilla' and has worked with boxers such as Julio Caesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, Tim Austin, Evander Holyfield and many more. He has organized and engaged in over 300 world championships and created in excess of 2,000 boxing matches. Payton was quoted as saying "this will be one of the best fight cards ever in the city of Mobile."
