MASONIC BUILDING TIME CAPSULE

Feb 13th, 2003

Thursday, February 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in front of the old Masonic Building, 8 St. Joseph Street . In the event of bad weather, we will move to the Museum of Mobile on Royal Street. The Mobile Historic Development commission and representatives of the Masonic Order in Mobile will open the time capsule sealed in the corner stone of their building in 1902. The Commission will then turn the time capsule over to the Masons, who in turn will give it to the Museum of Mobile. You remember the time capsule was saved by contractors following the collapse of the building during of last year's tropical storms. The building was being rehabilitated by the Mobile Revolving fund for Historic Properties after terrible damage caused by a fire prior to Mardi Gras last year.
