Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Statement from Mayor Sandy Stimpson

Mobile, Ala. -- Mayor Stimpson released the following statement regarding Martin Luther King, Jr. Day."Dr. Martin Luther King lived and taught the principles that men and women everywhere, regardless of color or creed, are equal members of the human family. Today, as we celebrate the life of Dr. King, we honor his principles as we continue his vision. Our vision remains to unite our city by celebrating the diversity of our citizens and creating equity in our communities. We are one city with one vision: One Mobile."
Mayor Stimpson will speak at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Saturday, January 13 at 11 am at Tricentennial Park and at the Port City Chapter of Blacks in Government 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast on Monday, January 15, at 8:30 am. Following the breakfast. he will arrive at Calloway Smith Middle School to participate in the MLK Rally at 10:30 am, the MLK March at noon and the City-Wide Inter-Faith Service at 1 pm.
