Market in the Park Returns

Apr 25th, 2008

The second of the City sponsored farmers’ markets, Market in the Park, returns to the Mobile Museum of Art beginning Thursday, May 1st from 3 until 6:30 p.m. with produce, honey, wines, flowers, and much more. For the third year, the Museum plays host to our market, offers free admission and childrens activities, and helps to support our local agrarian economy. New to the Museum is the addition of their Palette Café, which will sell desert and coffee from 2 until 4 p.m.

Outside, local vendors offer fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, honey, plants, vinegars, Satsuma cider, and eventually breads, berries and handcrafted items.

Market-goers will also enjoy live music in the beautiful park setting each Thursday through July 24th.

The event is a public market initiative and sponsored by the City of Mobile’s Neighborhood & Community Services Department. To find out more information, please visit our website: www.ncsmobile.org or call Market Coordinator Chris Barraza at 208-7443.
