Market in the Park is Back by Popular Demand

May 3rd, 2007

The Market in the Park, West Mobile’s local farmers’ market, sponsored by the City of Mobile, will open for the Spring season on Thursday, May 10th from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the grounds of the Mobile Museum of Art in Langan Park.

As a part of Mayor Jones’ new City department, Neighborhood & Community Services, this initiative is designed to serve West Mobilians’ with the freshest produce available; while simultaneously helping to support our local economy. The idea began last year with the support of Councilmembers Reggie Copeland and Gina Gregory, and was so well received that we are bringing the market back.

The Mobile Museum of Art graciously serves as host of our market by providing live music and free admission throughout the season until July 26th.

Langan Park provides a beautiful and natural backdrop for the market which provides citizens with locally grown vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, honey, seafood, handcrafted goods and much more. Everyone is encouraged to come out and shop, tour the museum, and walk through and across the new bridge in the Park.
