March Rabies Clinic Scheduled

The Mobile County Health Department has scheduled a special rabies clinic at the following locations:

Pet Supplies Plus
803 Hillcrest Rd.
Saturday, March 5, 2005
1:30p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This clinic is open to the public and shots cost $8 per pet.

Rabies and Symptoms...

Rabies is a virus that attacks the central nervous system. It is transmitted from infected mammals to man and is fatal once symptoms appears. Symptoms of rabies include unusual behavior, irritability, headache, fever, an inability to eat or drink, balance problems, circling, seizures, coma and finally death. All warm-blooded mammals, including man, are susceptible to rabies.

Prevent the spread of Rabies...

Exposure to rabies may be minimized by eliminating all stray dogs and cats, having pet dogs and cats vaccinated, and staying away from all wild animals, especially those acting abnormally. Avoid keeping exotic or wild animals as pets.
