Lights Shine for the Children

Where: Spanish Plaza, downtown Mobile
Local child and youth-serving organizations in Mobile are planning a Candlelight Service designed to:
- show support for children and families in Mobile County who will be losing essential services as a result of proposed budget cuts being discussed in Montgomery right now;
- show support for local programs that will be forced to close their doors or drastically reduce services as a result of these same budget cuts;
- increase public awareness of the plight of children in Alabama;
- lift up the prayers of our community for a brighter future for children in Alabama.
The event is scheduled to last for approximately 30 minutes.
Please bring your own candles and matches.
We are not alone. Similar Candlelight Services are also taking place on this same date in Huntsville, Daphne, and Montgomery. Services are also being planned in Gadsden, Birmingham, and Anniston.
