KMB American Flag Recovery Project Starts Friday

This Friday, June 14th is Flag Day across the nation.

And Friday is the day Keep Mobile Beautiful will kick off our latest program – The American Flag Recovery Project!

If you have an old American flag that needs proper disposal, please bring it.

The process is simple. Fold the worn out flag and place it in a plastic bag. Bring it to the Recycling Center located at 1451 Government Street and place it in the “Flag Recovery Box”. (Photo below)

The purpose of the new project is to provide the community with another easy way to properly retire worn out American Flags.

KMB has partnered with the Woodmen of the World organization of Semmes, AL that holds regular flag burning ceremonies. As flags are collected, they will be delivered to the organization for retirement.
