Jun 9th, 2008

Mobile police are asking individuals to be cautious about problems related to high temperatures in the area following the arrest of two women who left two children unattended in a car Saturday at in a parking lot.

“The high temperatures can be deadly for individuals who are confined to a house or vehicle, or for those who exert themselves in this kind of weather,” cautioned Police Chief Phillip Garrett.

He suggested that individuals be cautious when they are working or are active on hot days. He also is asking people to check on the welfare of family and neighbors who might be vulnerable to the heat, either because of their ages or circumstances.

“We need to watch out for each other,” he said. “This is when a good neighbor or friend can be a lifesaver.”
