Keep Mobile Beautiful Volunteers Help Local Business Give Back

On March 3 Keep Mobile Beautiful volunteers potted 2,500 saplings at Praxair, Inc. The project began 17 years ago with a committment from Praxair to plant one million trees in 10 years. This project was so successful that they decided to continue their committment to the project.

Praxair cares for the seedlings at their Mobile plant until they are large enough to be planted into the ground. At that time, the trees are given away to Mobile area citizens and planting projects. The following year, they pot more seedling to keep the project going.

The varieties potted this year are Southern Magnolia, Japanese Red Maple, Bald Cypress, Willow Oak and Live Oak.
