Keep Mobile Beautiful to Host Electronics Recycling Event

Mar 27th, 2012

On Saturday, March 31, Keep Mobile Beautiful will host our Spring Electronics Recycling event from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds at the corner of Cody Road and Ziegler Boulevard. If you have old electronics/computers that you no longer need, please recycle them. The event is free to Mobile area residents. This recycling event is co-sponsored by E-Covery of Loxley, Equit-E-Cycle of Mobile, Waste Management, Toyota Industrial Equipment, Recycled Fibers, Mobile Paperboard, Holcim, and Alabama Power Company.

Due to the rapid advancements in electronic technology - cell phones, computer components, fax machines, printers, televisions and other electronic devices are often obsolete in a matter of years. The landfill alternative is recycling. During the recycling process, plastic and metal components such as, aluminum, copper and steel, as well as gold and silver, can be recovered and used to make new products.

By taking advantage of the convenient Keep Mobile Beautiful drive thru and drop off day at the Greater Gulf States Fairgrounds March 31, the community can make a big impact on keeping Mobile "clean and green."
