Keep Mobile Beautiful Keeps Mobile Green

Jan 21st, 2007

Volunteers with Keep Mobile Beautiful were out in force this weekend with the planting of Biloxi Crape Myrtles along Hillcrest Road in west Mobile Saturday. Councilwoman Connie Hudson helped plant the shrubs. The trees were paid for by a grant to Keep Mobile Beautiful from the Hearin-Chandler Foundation.

Also on Saturday, Councilman Fred Richardson helped plant 12 Live Oak trees along Stanton Road. The trees were paid for by a grant from the USDA Forest Service secured through the Mobile Tree Commission. The oaks were planted to replace several trees that were lost during Hurricane Katrina.
