Keep Mobile Beautiful Hosts Electronics Recycling Day

Nov 26th, 2012

On Saturday, December 1, Keep Mobile Beautiful will host our Fall Electronics Recycling event from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds at the corner of Cody Road and Ziegler Boulevard. Old electronics should not be tossed in the garbage or locked in the attic! They have another useful life ahead of them as other products! If you have old electronics/computers that you no longer need, please recycle them. The event is free to Mobile area residents. This recycling event is co-sponsored by E-Covery of Loxley, Waste Management, Toyota Industrial Equipment, Recycled Fibers, Holcim, and Alabama Power Company.

Due to the rapid advancements in electronic technology - cell phones, computer components, fax machines, printers, televisions and other electronic devices are often obsolete in a matter of years. The alternative to sending them to the landfill is recycling. During the recycling process, plastic and metal components such as, aluminum, copper and steel, as well as gold and silver, can be recovered and used to make new products.

By taking advantage of the convenient Keep Mobile Beautiful drive thru and drop off day at the Greater Gulf States Fairgrounds December 1, the community can make a big impact on keeping Mobile "clean and green".

VOLUNTEER UNLOADERS ARE STILL NEEDED. CALL 208-6028 TO HELP.
