Howells Ferry Rd. temporarily closing for railroad improvements
Mobile, Ala. – Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 6, Howells Ferry Rd. will be closed at the railroad tracks between Moffett and Overlook roads. The railroad will be closing the roadway for approximately two days to make track improvements. The roadway is projected to reopen by 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7. Howells Ferry Rd. will be closed at Overlook Rd. Motorists will be detoured onto eastbound Overlook Rd. to northbound University Blvd. to westbound Moffett Rd. and to Howells Ferry Rd.
Howells Ferry Rd. westbound traffic will be detoured at Moffett Rd. westbound to Schillinger Rd. and southbound to Howells Ferry Rd.
Howells Ferry Rd. eastbound traffic will be detoured at eastbound Moffett Rd. to southbound University Blvd. to westbound Zeigler Blvd. to northbound Cody Rd. and to Howells Ferry Rd.
There will be signage in the area noting the detours. You can find maps of the detour routes below:
