Help Kick Off National Preservation Month in Mobile

The Mobile Historic Development Commission, The Mobile Arts Council and the Old Shell Road School of the Creative and Performing Arts are teaming up for a special exhibit to kick off National Preservation Month this May. After reading the children’s classic, The Little House, by Virginia Lee Burton, Dawn Davis’ third grade art students were inspired to draw the small early twentieth century houses across the street from the school.Take an opportunity to view their artwork at an Arts-In-Preservation Preview Party of The Little House: A Preservation Tale on Thursday, May 3, in the Blue Room of the Mobile Arts Council, 318 Dauphin Street from 5-7 p.m. Admission is $10.00 per person, $15.00 per couple. Hosted by the MHDC and underwritten in part by Ashland Gallery and Mack Lewis, Contractor, Inc., the proceeds will benefit MHDC’s Barton Academy Restoration Fund.
