GREAT MARDI GRAS CLEANUP

Keep Mobile Beautiful is getting an early start on our annual Spring Litter Cleanup by hosting our first GREAT MARDI GRAS CLEANUP on Thursday, February 26.

The cleanup event will take place downtown in the Henry Aaron Loop area. Businesses and residents of the area have already been asked to help cleanup their own property and surrounding areas before and after Mardi Gras but they need help because there are still many lots, alleys and fence lines that will need to be cleaned.

Volunteers, including individuals, school and church groups, fraternities and sororities, civic organizations and others are invited to call Keep Mobile Beautiful at 208-6029 to register for the cleanup. Pick-up tools, caps, gloves and safety vests will be provided. Light refreshments will be served. Volunteers will be assigned specific areas or vacant lots that need to be cleaned.

Anyone who would like to volunteer for the cleanup for as little as 30 minutes or as many as three hours is asked to call Keep Mobile Beautiful at 208-6029 or report to the Keep Mobile Beautiful office at 352 Government Street.
