Government Street Market partners with State of Alabama Farmers Market Authority

Every Saturday morning, The Government Street Market is held at the corner of Government and Jackson Sts. from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. A growing number of community members come out each week to buy everything from fresh flowers to fruits and veggies to seafood. This week The State of Alabama Farmers Market Authority is coming to Mobile to kick off a new statewide public awareness campaign: BUY FRESH, BUY LOCAL. A joint venture between the Market Authority and The Alabama Farmers Federation, this campaign has been designed to increase consumption of fresh, locally produced foods as well as to support Alabama farmers. In this day & age where seeing is believing, this campaign is geared towards showing consumers why they would want to buy fresh and locally, as opposed to simply telling them. We encourage you and your friends, family, and colleagues to attend this campaign launch to see first hand the cornucopia of scrumptious and nutritious products that are available at our local market! Just look for the white tents!
