Jun 2nd, 2004

The Alabama Coastal Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization, will host its annual Crawfish Craze Thursday, June 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Bluegill Restaurant.

This second annual craze is the ACF’s major fundraising event and proceeds will support the foundation’s environmental and conservation efforts.  The $25 ticket price includes all-you-can-eat crawfish, cold beverages and music by the West Loper Band. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Alabama Coastal Foundation at 251-990-6002.

The ACF was formed in 1993 to improve and protect the quality of Alabama’s coastal resources by identifying and solving problems through education, cooperation and participation. The foundation distinguishes itself by working to find common ground among business/industry and citizens to maintain the balance between conservation and need for economic growth. Programs include; Alabama CoastWatch (longest ongoing water quality monitoring program), the Coastal Kids Quiz, Household Hazardous Waste removal days, the Mon Louis Island Marsh restoration, and the Wolf Bay Watershed Project.
