FORD'S CENTENNIAL TOUR TO VISIT MOBILE

Mobile has been designated as one of 100 cities Ford motor Company executives will visit as part of the company's Centennial celebration. The 100-city road show is a prelude to Ford's 100th anniversary which will be held from June 12-16 on the grounds of the company's world headquarters in Dearborn Michigan.Tony Brown, Ford Vice President, global Purchasing and former Mobile Resident, will visit Mobile Thursday, May 22, and Friday May 23. Friday morning, Brown is scheduled to recognize Mobile's centenarians at the Mobile Museum of Art in Langan Park. Ford's Centennial celebration will culminate on Friday evening at Hank Aaron Stadium when the Mobile BayBears host the Birmingham Barons.
"I'm delighted to come back to Mobile", said Brown who lived in Mobile five years.
" It's a wonderful community and a natural destination for our Centennial tour as both Mobile and Ford are embarking on their next 100 years." Mobile was founded in 1702 and Ford was founded in 1903.
Centenarians who live in the Mobile area are invited to attend the ceremony at the Mobile Museum of Art, 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 23. TONY (THOMAS K.) BROWN BIOGRAPHY
DEARBORN, Michigan - Tony (Thomas K.) Brown is vice president, Ford Global Purchasing, a position he was appointed to in January 2002.
Prior to this, Brown was executive director, Manufacturing Procurement Operations - Ford Global Purchasing. Before his role as executive director, he was director, Ford Purchasing Global Strategic Planning and Process Leadership.
Tony joined Ford in July 1999 from United Technologies Automotive, where he was vice president of Supply Management. Prior to that, he was executive director of corporate purchasing and transportation for QMS Inc., a maker and provider of networked enterprise printing solutions.
Brown holds a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from American International College in Springfield, Mass.
