First Night Mobile 2002 is coming!

The 2001 festival features entertainment from 6:00 p.m. until midnight including a variety of theater, music, dancing, hands-on art, visual art exhibits, and children's activities and street surprises in venues throughout the downtown business district. Plans also include a children's procession at 8:00 p.m. beginning at Bienville Square and a Second Line from Cathedral Square to Cooper Riverside Park at 11:30 p.m. for the midnight fireworks.

The alcohol-free New Year's Eve celebration of the arts buttons went on sale November 26 for only $7 at Mobile-area banks and at the Bel Air Mall kiosk. Buttons are $10 at the event. Children six and younger are admitted free. First Night Mobile admission buttons provide entry to more than seventy indoor and outdoor performances in downtown Mobile on December 21, 2001. First Night performances will take place regardless of weather. Admission buttons are nonrefundable.
