First Day Highlights For Mobile Delegation At The Paris Air Show

Torrential rain made traveling to the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airfield difficult for “Team Mobile” delegation on Monday.
“The rain caused many traffic delays,” said Mobile Mayor Sam Jones. “Despite the rain, we were able to meet with several companies and their representatives.”
Monday begin at 7:30 a.m. with the following:
· Mayor Jones met the Triumph Group, which makes the power transfer units for the A320;
· Mayor Jones, along with County Commissioner Jerry Carl and others met with Allan McArtor, chairman of Airbus Americas Inc. to discuss the city and the Airbus’s cooperative efforts during the construction and recruitment phase of the Final Assembly Line. They also talked about the long range planning to develop Brookley Aeroplex as an aerospace hub;
· Team Mobile also met with officials with AVIC to discuss the company’s future plans to develop their facility at Bookley;
· Mayor Jones met with ST Aerospace Engineering President/CEO Tan Phen Hock, along with other members of Team Mobile;
· The group reviewed the new technologies for airport screening and security from Karen Bomba, Chairman/CEO of Safran/Labinal USA, along with Drew Aldridge, director of Business Development.
A number of other meetings were made by other members of Team Mobile, which included all three County Commissioners, The Airport Authority Director, Council Vice President Fred Richardson and members of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.
