Firefighters to Conduct Night Training Exercise

Sep 24th, 2008

The Training Division of the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will be conducting night drills to train firefighter recruits at the old City Hall North building located at 350 Saint Joseph Street (next to the Press-Register) this Wednesday evening, September 24. The training exercise is scheduled to begin at approximately 6 p.m.

Firefighter recruits will have to conduct search and rescue operations in the 4 story brick building as well as simulated fire fighting. There will be no live fire used in the training session however smoke machines will be used to generate theatrical smoke to give the exercise a more realistic feel.

There are currently twenty-eight recruits in training and graduation exercises are scheduled for the later part of October.
