Sep 29th, 2008

The Training Division of the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will once again be conducting controlled live burn exercises to train firefighter recruits from Tuesday, September 30 through Thursday, October 2. The training will occur in a donated vacant house located at 2069 Point Legere Road on Dog River. Training should start at approximately 8 a.m. each day.

On Tuesday, September 30, there will be no burning but recruits will be cutting holes in the roof of the over 5 thousand square foot, single story house to practice ventilation. Other training will be conducted as well.

On Wednesday, October 1 half of the house will be burned for training and Thursday, October 2 the other half will be burned. After training is completed on Thursday the entire structure will be allowed to burn until completely consumed by fire.
