Firefighters to Burn House for Training

Beginning at approximately 8 a.m. Friday, September 26, the Training Division of the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will be conducting controlled live burn exercises to train firefighter recruits. The training will occur in a vacant house located at 555 Westhaven Drive in the Hillsdale Community. This is the first live burn exercise for the twenty-eight recruits who are currently in training.

Once the training exercise is complete, the house, which was donated by the University of South Alabama, will be allowed to burn until completely consumed by fire.
