Fate of Rezoning Still Undecided

Mobile City Council members will meet with proponents and opponents of a rezoning proposal Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in the Council's Conference Room at Government Plaza. Council members delayed action on the appeal of the proposal that would rezone three lots on a mostly residential block of Old Shell Road from residential to business. The property owner says he wants to use the land for a parking lot.

The proposal has already been turned down by the Mobile Planning Commission and has received opposition from the Historical Development Commission.

Entitlement Meeting

Members of the City's Entitlement Committee will meet Friday, January 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Council's Conference Room, on the 9th floor at Government Plaza. This committee consists of City Council members, Housing Board officials and city administrators. The committee steers spending of Community Block Grant funds.
