Jun 26th, 2017

Mobile, Ala. - Through a collaboration between the Administration and the City Council, the City of Mobile is breathing new life into Dog River Park.

"In order to connect communities throughout the City of Mobile, we must ensure that our parks, which are the hearts of our neighborhoods, meet the expectations and needs of Mobilians," said Mayor Stimpson. "These renovations will help transform Dog River Park into a gathering place for our citizens."

These renovations at Dog River Park will include the press box and concession area, including a sidewalk in between the two buildings. It will also upgrade the existing restroom facilities which includes ADA compliant bathrooms. The restoration will also address security by adding additional lighting and a security camera. Additionally, repairs will be made to the pavilion, bleachers, the boat launch as well as other site improvements. To create a cleaner and more family-friendly atmosphere, new trash cans, benches and picnic tables will also be installed.

The Mobile City Council will vote to authorize the $56,871.00 contract with The Architect Group, Inc. to design the Dog River Park Improvements during Tuesday's regular City Council meeting.
