December Officer of the Month

Corporal Daniel Horgan, III, a thirteen Mobile Police Department veteran assigned to the Third Precinct, has been awarded the honor of Office of the Month for his exceptional performance during the month of December. Cpl. Horgan is responsible for the following notable arrests in December:

• On Dec. 10, after hearing the description of robbery suspects, Cpl. Horgan quickly responded and began searching the streets of his beat and the nearby streets in Prichard. While in the area of Reynolds Street, Cpl. Horgan observed three subjects walking who fitting the descriptions of the perpetrators. Following a brief foot chase, Cpl. Horgan was able to apprehend two of the subjects and the third was arrested with assistance from fellow officers. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the subjects were involved in several other armed robberies in previous weeks. Two of the subjects were charged with Robbery First Degree and the third will be charged pending further investigation.

• On Dec. 19, Cpl. Horgan and fellow officers were dispatched to a Burglary in Progress at Quintarez Day Care Center. Cpl. Horgan and backing officers entered the building to find the subjects still inside the business. All parties involved were arrested and charged with Burglary Second Degree and Possession of Burglary Tools.

During the month of December, Cpl. Horgan was responsible for making five felony and six misdemeanor arrests. Cpl. Horgan’s outstanding work ethic and sense of professionalism is a true asset to the Mobile Police Department.
