Cuban Festival

The second week in March will be full of Cuban events, thanks to the Mobile Public Library, the Saenger Theatre, and the Mobile Symphony. Cuban film, literature and music will be celebrated in Mobile at several events.

Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m., Bernheim Hall in the Main Library - Second Tuesday Cinema presents the 1994 film "Guantanamera". A $3.00 donation to the library is suggested.

Thursday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m., Bernheim Hall in the Main Library - find out what it means to have Hispanic roots within mainstream American culture. Meet author/journalist Cristina Garcia as she explores the complexities of cultural identity and discusses Cuban-American relations.

Friday, March 14 is Hot, Hot Havana at the Saenger. For information call 208-5600.

Saturday March 15, 8:00 p.m. is "Fiesta!" The Mobile Symphony will perform music of Cuban composer Amadeo Roldan at the Saenger Theater. For ticket information call 208-5600.
