Councilman Richardson Honors LeFlore's State Champs

District One Councilman Fred Richardson welcomed the members of the LeFlore High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team to the Council meeting on March 24, 2009. The Lady Rattlers won the 5A Girls State Basketball Championship with a 68-60 win over Brewer at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham on Saturday, February 28, 2009. The team finished the season with an overall record of 25-2.

Also commended was the coaching staff: Head Coach Darrell Walton and Assistant Coaches Alfred Perkins, Sr. and Derrick Gray.

The players include: Jacquese Brooks, Marshae Shelton, Brandi Mance, Gabrielle Williams, Kyra Sneed, Tiffany Shelton, Bessie Carson, April Webb, Jocelyn Shaw, Sarah Vann, Shanece McKinney, and Ashley Myles.
