Councilman Richardson Announces Kidney Transplantation Day; Track Participants Honored

Councilman Fred Richardson presented a proclamation recognizing Dr. Velma P. Scantlebury, Director of the University of South Alabama Regional Transplant Center, for the difference she is making in the health of our community. He also recognized August 11, 2006 as “Kidney Transplantation Day” in the City of Mobile.

Also recognized at the city council meeting was a special group of Junior Olympians from Mobile, who competed recently in a national meet in Baltimore, Maryland.
