Council Approves Village of Spring Hill Optional Zoning Overlay

The Mobile City Council unanimously approved a voluntary zoning overlay for the Village of Spring Hill, which includes three sections of the Spring Hill area. The commercial areas affected include the intersection of McGregor Ave and Old Shell Road; the intersection of Old Shell Road and Bit & Spur Road; and Museum Drive from McGregor to PFC John D. New Road.

The voluntary zoning overlay allows businesses and residents to design their offices to conform to a "downtown" feel. The zoning changes were sought by the Village of Spring Hill, a non-profit organizations made up of stakeholders in the Spring Hill area.
